Item Description

For auction is a brand new TVGuardian Model 201.  This is a rare find as these are not manufactured anymore.  Features include:

  • Dual inputs including S-Video and Digital Audio
  • Easy switching between inputs on front panel
  • On screen user setup menu
  • Optional password protection
  • Three different wordsets - each with four filter levels
  • Updated foul language dictionary
  • Sleek design, works aesthetically with today's audio/video systems and home theater equipment
  • Front panel user interface

The TVGuardian uses TVG patented technology to decode and monitor the hidden closed captioned text which is made available for the hearing impaired.  Each word is checked against a dictionary of offensive words and phrases.  When an offensive word is detected, the TVG technology automatically mutes the sound, and then turns the sound back on when the phrase is completed.  There are many ways to connect TVG depending on whether you have a cable box and a VCR, or cable with no cable box and a VCR, or a VCR/DVD combination unit, or a stereo or surround-sound receiver, or you have only a VCR and an antenna, or whatever you have.   Several connection examples are described in the user's manual, and I found very clear diagrams for every type of set-up with your home theater equipment at http://tvguardian.com customer support/technical support.  This unit has never been used but has been tested and it works perfectly.  I am sorry that I no longer have the original box, but everything is original and brand new.  The filter comes with two A/V (RCA-type) jacks, a coaxial cable, power cord (9-volt wall transformer), and user's manual.  TVG must be connected in-line between your VCR/cable box/satellite receiver/DVD player, and your TV and stereo/home theater system (if applicable).  Therefore, TVG will not work on TV/VCR or TV/DVD combo units.  This is a great addition to your entertainment center.
